Women detained in Cancún after reckless driving incident

Red Volkswagen Vento car on Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue in Cancún

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Two women were detained on Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue in Supermanzana 97 after a reckless driving incident involving a red Volkswagen Vento with mismatched license plates.

What began as a routine patrol ended in a dramatic episode: elements of the Grupo Centurión, in coordination with personnel from the Secretary of the Navy, detected the vehicle speeding and putting drivers and pedestrians at risk. Despite verbal commands, the driver continued until seeing the patrol car up close and stopping abruptly.

During the inspection, Karla Elizabeth “N” adopted a hostile attitude, but the surprise came later: the license plates did not belong to the car. Additionally, a second woman—Ocotlán Brenda “N”—got out of the car ready to create her own scene, including pushing and insults, in a failed attempt to avoid detention.

Finally, the license plate and vehicle registration were secured to be turned over to the State Attorney General’s Office. The adventure ended without major damage but with a case file that will be difficult to “accelerate” to leave behind.
