Playa del Carmen, Mexico — Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) detained two foreign nationals for their alleged involvement in drug-related crimes. The arrests occurred during a routine patrol in the Ejido neighborhood, where authorities observed the suspects exchanging small bags containing suspected narcotics.

Details of the Arrest

During a preventive inspection, officers confiscated multiple small bags containing green vegetable matter, a crystalline substance, and pink powder consistent with illegal drugs. Additionally, cell phones and a foreign-plated vehicle were seized and transported for safekeeping.

The detainees, identified as Samuel "N" and Robert "N," both 27 years old and U.S. citizens, were informed of their legal rights before being taken to a medical facility for certification. They, along with the seized evidence, were subsequently handed over to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking, where their legal status will be determined.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to establish further details regarding the suspects' alleged involvement in drug distribution.
