QUINTANA ROO, Mexico — The Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo (FGE) has announced the formal charging of two men for their alleged involvement in separate incidents constituting sexual crimes committed in Playa del Carmen and Benito Juárez. According to an official statement from the FGE, both cases are related to minor victims, whose identities are being withheld.
Two Men Face Preventive Detention in Quintana Roo
In Playa del Carmen, a control judge formally charged Rafael Salvador “N” with the crime of pederasty. According to the investigation, in December 2024 and August 2025, the accused allegedly committed sexual acts against a minor at a residence in the Paseo Sisal neighborhood. As a precautionary measure, he was ordered to preventive detention for a period of two years.
Separately, in Benito Juárez, José Alberto “N” was formally charged with sexual abuse and rape to the detriment of a minor. The accused, who was familiar to the victim, allegedly exploited this relationship to commit the illegal acts at a residence in Supermanzana 234. The judge ordered preventive detention for the duration of the judicial process.
Attorney General's Office Reinforces Actions Against Sexual Crimes
The Specialized Attorney's Office in Combating Sexual Crimes and Upholding Personal Development emphasized that it will continue working on compiling evidence to guarantee justice for the victims. Furthermore, it urged the public to report any incident that violates the integrity of children and adolescents.
