Cancún, Mexico — Agents from the Investigation Group of the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) have arrested two individuals, identified as David “N” and María Juanita “N”, for their alleged involvement in crimes against public health. The arrests occurred after they were caught exchanging small bags of narcotics in the 248th city block.
The detention took place on Sexta Privada Kabah street, in the Villas del Mar neighborhood, where officers observed three people handling small plastic bags containing a dry herb, apparently marijuana. Upon noticing the presence of the officers, one of the men fled the scene on foot, while the remaining two individuals stayed, allowing for police intervention.
During a search, authorities secured a backpack, an eco-friendly bag, 113 small bags containing a dry herb with characteristics similar to marijuana, another bag containing the same narcotic, and 39 small ziploc bags with crystalline fragments presumed to be crystal meth. Additionally, 12 boxes of vape cartridges containing THC liquid, three sheets with 60 squares and 25 triangles bearing images alluding to LSD, and a gram scale were confiscated.
According to intelligence information, David “N”, who went by the alias “Doctor”, distributed drugs to small-scale vendors who operated primarily on Facebook and WhatsApp groups. Authorities indicated that he worked independently and intended to form his own criminal group, for which he already had several distributors. Their primary market was students who requested the substances for home delivery.
Investigations reveal that the police corporation had been tracking him for nearly two months, thanks to the monitoring of posts on social media platforms where the drugs were offered.
The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Drug Trafficking.
