Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa recently visited the newly established Tulum Technological University, marking the first public higher education institution in the municipality. The university boasts 15 classrooms, a conference room, IT and English laboratories, administrative offices, washrooms, and a solar panel system. The equipment will be put into use as per the campus management's discretion.
In its initial phase, the Tulum Technological University will cater to 900 students. However, within one to three years, the institution plans to increase its enrollment to over two thousand. The university will offer programs in gastronomy and tourism.
The university's infrastructure is already well-developed, with the installation of solar panels, air conditioning, and other finishes completed. Furthermore, the institution has fully equipped its IT facilities and industrial kitchen.
Governor Mara Lezama had the opportunity to interact with students from the gastronomy bachelor's program, who presented her with a culinary sample. She was accompanied by José Rafael Lara Díaz, the General Director of the Educational Physical Infrastructure Institute of Quintana Roo State, and Carlos Mario Uc Sosa, the Dean of Tulum Technological University.
