Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — A man died after being struck by a vehicle on the highway between Puerto Morelos and Cancún late Thursday night.
Motorists traveling on Highway 307 near Aldea Kin in Puerto Morelos reported around midnight that a man had been hit and was lying on the pavement. Authorities confirmed the report and found the victim had no vital signs.
Investigators collected initial information indicating the accident occurred when the man attempted to cross the busy highway and was struck by a driver. However, a second version suggested the person may have intentionally thrown himself toward speeding vehicles.
The body was transported to the Servicio Médico Forense (Semefo) facility in Cancún. The Ministerial Police will investigate to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
