The bustling tourist activity in Progreso has significantly boosted the local economy, with merchants and service providers reaping the benefits. Street vendors have been drawn to the area surrounding the Poseidon statue, capitalizing on the large crowds that gathered on Sunday.
The beaches of Chicxulub and Chelem have also seen a surge in visitors, bringing a wave of prosperity to local businesses. Vehicle traffic remained smooth during the early afternoon hours, ensuring a pleasant experience for tourists.
However, the port of El Cuyo only saw the arrival of approximately 200 visitors. This is a decrease from the previous week, which unfortunately did not bode well for the area's tourism service providers.
