Tulum Strengthens Leadership as International Event Venue
Tulum, Mexico — Tulum has reaffirmed its position as one of the most important event destinations nationally and internationally by hosting 120,000 travelers during the recent festival season, including the renowned Zamná festival, which attracted visitors from over 100 nationalities, according to figures reported by organizers.
Following instructions from Municipal President Diego Castañón Trejo, local authorities maintained permanent coordination to guarantee logistics, security, and protection for both citizens and tourists attending the various events. Personnel from Public Security, Civil Protection, and Inspection deployed preventive operations before, during, and after each day.
Secretary of Public Security and Citizen Protection Edgar Aguilar Rico reported that over 60 inspections were conducted at venues and stages, along with 55 peripheral inspections, plus supervision of public access points and reviews of staff and collaborators, in coordination with state and federal agencies.
The Zamná festival attracted tourists from over 100 countries. Meanwhile, Director of Inspection Sergio Canto indicated that permanent supervision and surveillance operations were implemented to verify compliance with permits and legal provisions at event venues. These actions were carried out jointly with Public Security, Civil Protection, Firefighters, Municipal Transit, the National Guard, SEDENA, and the State Attorney General’s Office, among other agencies.
Additionally, Inspection personnel conducted tours in the coastal zone, city center, La Veleta neighborhood, and Tulum Avenue, with the objective of verifying the timely closure of establishments according to authorized schedules.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Civil Protection reported verifications in facilities to ensure safety regarding wiring, stages, generators, and fire extinguishers, plus permanent tours and control in event access areas.
According to the marketing area of the Zamná festival, the execution of these events allowed the attraction of thousands of visitors who enjoyed an experience combining contemporary music with Tulum’s natural attractions, such as its jungle and beaches.
With these results, Tulum consolidates itself as a high-quality event destination worldwide, while the municipal government reiterated its commitment to continue elevating visitor experience and strengthening the municipality’s positioning among travelers’ preferred destinations.
