Tulum Businessman Accused of Gender-Based Violence in Alleged Assault

Tulum, Quintana Roo — A businessman in Tulum has been accused of gender-based violence, with witnesses alleging he assaulted a woman and may have targeted others in the past. Authorities are investigating the case, which has drawn attention on social media.

César Rosas, who owns Authentic Tours Tulum, faces allegations of attacking a woman, believed to be his partner, at Sergio Trapote Rental Property in Tulum. Witnesses reported that Rosas kicked the victim in the face about 10 times during the incident, though a video circulating online does not show the assault directly, only the woman’s screams.

Neighbors and family members describe Rosas as having a persistently violent behavior, with relatives reportedly keeping their distance to avoid problems. The victim and her close circle claim to have identified at least three other women who were allegedly abused by Rosas, and they are urging these individuals to file complaints with authorities to prevent further harm.

Activists and citizens have shared the story on social media to raise awareness and pressure officials to take action. The State Prosecutor’s Office is handling a complaint related to what is being described as an attempted femicide in Tulum.
