Tulum, Quintana Roo — The city will hold a special job fair on Aug. 13 and 14 to fill more than 40 positions ahead of the opening of the Centro Tulum shopping center.

Companies preparing to launch operations at the new commercial complex will participate in the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The venue has not yet been confirmed, but organizers said it will likely be the municipal palace, as in previous editions. Authorities asked job seekers to prepare their resumes in advance to speed up the selection process.

“We are very close to opening Centro Tulum, the largest mall Tulum has had so far,” said Melitón Pérez, the city’s director of economic development. “On Aug. 13 and 14, we will offer more than 40 vacancies. It is important that interested candidates prepare their resumes and stay tuned to official information.”

Participating employers include Cinépolis, Coppel, Suburbia, Smart Fit, Starbucks, Chedraui and a banking institution, among other companies that will begin operations in the new shopping center. According to local officials, the positions offer a range of benefits, representing an opportunity for those looking to join the formal labor market.

Pérez also urged residents to watch for the official announcement with final details on the venue and participation requirements. He described the fair as one of the city’s main strategies for connecting people with the new employment opportunities generated by Tulum’s commercial growth.
