Tulum, Quintana Roo — Authorities arrested three men in possession of narcotics and a firearm in the Francisco Uh May community of Tulum after responding to an anonymous tip, the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office announced.
Investigative police officers, coordinating with the Mexican Army and municipal police, caught the suspects red-handed during a field operation at a condominium. Officers identified themselves and requested a preventive inspection after observing three individuals arriving at the location and engaging in suspicious behavior.
During the inspection, authorities found doses of substances resembling narcotics. The seized items included green and dry plant material consistent with marijuana, white powder similar to cocaine, and a 9mm firearm loaded with a magazine and live rounds.
Police also inspected a gray Volkswagen Jetta Classic with Quintana Roo license plates, discovering additional drugs inside the vehicle. All evidence was secured for analysis and inclusion in the corresponding investigation file.
The three suspects—identified as Jesús Daniel “N”, Julio Israel “N”, and José Lorenzo “N”—were turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status.
