Teachers Rally Against Alleged Job Scam During President’s Visit

The Department of Education in Quintana Roo (SEQ) is embroiled in a scandal following accusations of a job scam. A group of individuals claim they were targeted by a network of fraudsters who sold fictitious job openings in the education sector.

The victims held a protest outside the SEQ headquarters in Chetumal, suggesting there could be over 300 people affected by this scam. They allege that SEQ officials and administrative staff are behind the fraudulent scheme, which involves the sale of non-existent job positions in various educational fields.

The education authorities have called on the victims to lodge formal complaints with the State Attorney General's Office and the legal department of the Department of Education. The protesters claim that this scam has been ongoing for more than three years across various parts of Quintana Roo.
