Spain will be the guest country at the inaugural International Book and Culture Fair (FILyC) in Playa del Carmen. The Mayor, Estefanía Mercado, has announced over 80 scheduled events. These include book presentations, reading sessions, conferences, and panel discussions. The fair will be held from April 3 to 6 at the 28th of July square, located in the historic Municipal Palace.

Alejandro Paz, a celebrated Spanish poet, will present his latest work, "No one taught us to say goodbye," on the opening day, April 3. In honor of Women's Month, there will be a panel discussion on the book "Women who shine. From girl to scientist." The fair also promises a host of author presentations and events aimed at young readers. Colombia will have representation through Rómulo Pozo and Doctor Ximena Vanegas Muñoz.

This cultural event aims to be a significant draw for cultural tourism from both Mexico and the rest of the world to Playa del Carmen.
