Playa del Carmen, Mexico — The municipal government of Solidaridad has categorically denied reports circulating on social media and digital platforms about an alleged shooting on Playa del Carmen’s iconic 5th Avenue. Authorities confirmed no violent incidents occurred and urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate information.
Authorities Dismiss Rumors as False and Misleading
In an official statement, the Solidaridad government clarified that the viral claims were entirely fabricated and aimed at causing unnecessary alarm among residents and tourists. "The content being shared is completely false. No violent incident of this nature has been recorded in the mentioned area," the statement emphasized.
The municipality warned that spreading such misinformation directly threatens public safety and the city’s reputation as a tourist destination.
