Playa del Carmen, QRoo — The Quintana Roo Attorney General's Office announced that, in coordination with the National Guard and the Municipal Police, it secured the flagrant detention of six individuals—five men and one woman—for their probable involvement in acts possibly constituting crimes against public health in the modality of small-scale drug dealing in this municipality.
Through a statement, the Attorney General's Office reported that elements of the Investigative Police assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Combating Small-Scale Drug Dealing captured Miriam N, Lorenzo David N, Gerardo N, Pantalion N, Víctor Daniel N, and Jonathan N on Playa Chemuyil Street in the Xcacel subdivision.
During investigative acts, the officers noticed four males outside an Aveo-type vehicle manipulating substances similar to narcotics, which prompted them to conduct an inspection.
The agents secured green and dry plant matter with the characteristic properties of marijuana, short firearms, and cellular phones. Inside the vehicle, they found long weapons, usable cartridges, and metal magazines, in addition to two more people with substances similar to narcotics.
It is noteworthy that the individuals under investigation are alleged to be presumed members of a criminal group that generates violence and is dedicated to the sale and distribution of drugs.
The six detained individuals and the secured evidence were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, who will determine their legal status within the corresponding legal term.
