Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — State Prosecutor’s Office investigators and municipal police officers detained six people in Playa del Carmen on suspicion of involvement in drug offenses, authorities announced.
The arrests followed investigative and surveillance work that allowed officers to locate the suspects, officials said. Officers then carried out inspections and seized substances resembling narcotics.
The six detainees were taken into custody and handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, along with the seized evidence, as the investigation proceeds.
Prosecutors will determine the legal status of the six detainees within the period established by law. Authorities said investigations will continue to establish the circumstances of the case and the possible responsibility of those involved.
