Cancun, Quintana Roo — A shooting in Cancun’s El Sheriff neighborhood late Monday left one man dead and three others injured, authorities reported.
Two men on a motorcycle opened fire at least 10 times on a group of people outside a home in the Region 236 area before fleeing, according to initial reports.
Red Cross paramedics responded to the scene and transported two of the injured, both Cuban nationals, to General Hospital. A third injured person went to a hospital on their own.
One man died at the scene from his injuries.
Municipal and state police officers cordoned off the area, and forensic experts from the State Prosecutor’s Office collected ballistic evidence and took the body to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy.
