Cancun, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo Tourism Infrastructure Institute (Infratur) will invest 225 million pesos in maintenance and improvement projects for Cancun’s Hotel Zone during the first quarter of the year, the agency’s director announced.
Ricardo Archundia, head of the agency formerly known as Foatqroo, said 110 million pesos will fund general maintenance, while an additional 115 million pesos will finance capital works along Boulevard Kukulcán, the main thoroughfare of the tourist corridor.
“These resources will address various points of urban infrastructure to keep one of the state’s busiest tourist areas in optimal condition,” Archundia explained.
The planned work includes road surface rehabilitation, sidewalk and curb replacement, streetlight and pole renewal, and bus stop maintenance and improvements along the boulevard.
Public lighting will be a priority, with efforts focused on enhancing illumination and ensuring better functionality throughout the corridor.
Infratur is also maintaining public spaces like the Jardín del Arte and kilometer zero area to preserve recreational zones that see high use by residents and athletes.
