Two Arrested in Cancún for Child Rape Cases

CANCÚN, MX — For their alleged involvement in acts possibly constituting the crime of rape, to the detriment of underage victims whose identities are protected, the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE), through the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combating Sexual Crimes and Crimes Against Free Personality Development, separately executed arrest warrants for two individuals in this municipality.

The first detainee is identified as Amisaday “N”. According to the FGE, he allegedly exploited his familial closeness to a male victim, committing the aforementioned crime since the minor was seven years old (he is currently eight). The alleged assaults reportedly occurred repeatedly whenever the victim was taken to the suspect's house, located in the Tierra Maya subdivision of Supermanzana 105.

The investigation states that after the minor mustered the courage to tell his mother what was happening, she filed the corresponding complaint. The Public Prosecutor's Office subsequently requested and obtained an arrest warrant from a control judge, which was then executed by investigative police.

The second arrest warrant was executed against Víctor “N”. He is accused by a female victim from his family circle of alleged acts constituting rape. The FGE noted that, separately, another individual close to the family allegedly also committed this crime against the same minor.

These events are reported to have occurred since 2019 at the family's home in the Villas del Mar subdivision of Supermanzana 248. The FGE stated the victim did not speak out because she was allegedly threatened by the accused, who told her that if she talked, he would hurt her mother. The victim reportedly believed this threat because she knew he had two firearms in the house.

Once the requisite legal procedures were completed, Amisaday “N” and Víctor “N” were turned over to the authority that requested them. A judge will define their legal status within the constitutional timeframe.
