Deadly Shooting in Playa del Carmen Tourist Zone

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A brawl recorded on Wednesday night on 2nd Street and Zofemat, in the heart of the tourist zone of Playa del Carmen, resulted in one person dead from gunshot wounds.

According to initial reports, the incident began as an altercation that escalated into a violent confrontation, in which the victim was fatally assaulted.

Security personnel arrived at the scene to cordon off the area and collect initial evidence. The State Attorney General's Office has opened an investigation file to clarify the course of events and identify those responsible.

The deceased remains unidentified, while police maintain an operation in the area to locate the whereabouts of the alleged aggressor or aggressors.
