Chetumal — The 18th Legislature of Quintana Roo has approved an initiative to establish clear rules for the sale of animals and promote responsible adoption, aiming to guarantee humane conditions and prioritize animal welfare. The measure, proposed by the Green Party, was highlighted by representative Renán Sánchez Tajonar, president of the Legislature's Board of Government and Political Coordination (Jugocopo).

Establishing Order and Prioritizing Well-Being

Renán Sánchez Tajonar stated that the reform represents a significant step toward building a more conscious, empathetic, and responsible society regarding animals. He emphasized that the goal is to establish order and ensure living conditions are respected.

"We are taking another step towards building a more conscious and responsible society towards animals. It's not about prohibiting, but about establishing order and ensuring that their living conditions are respected," said Renán Sánchez Tajonar.
