$4.3B Investment to Boost Puerto Aventuras Tourism

Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — The Fideicomiso Puerto Aventuras has announced a major private investment exceeding 4.3 billion pesos to be allocated over the next five years toward expanding and strengthening the Riviera Maya’s first integrated resort community.

According to Pablo Seguí Vizcaíno, General Director of the Fideicomiso, the ambitious plan includes the construction of 140 new residential units and 110 hotel keys, as well as new infrastructure projects designed to enhance livability and tourism appeal. The initiative also includes strategic partnerships with social and environmental programs that promote regional well-being and long-term sustainability.

“This investment reflects the confidence in Puerto Aventuras’ potential and its ability to remain an attractive destination for both residents and visitors,” Seguí Vizcaíno stated.

The announcement event brought together business leaders, municipal and state authorities, and members of the area’s multicultural community. The project has the backing of Grupo Frisa, Puerto Aventuras’ controlling shareholder and original developer.

In an interview with Inmobiliare, architect Román Rivera Torres, founder of Puerto Aventuras, emphasized that the community’s continued success lies in its focus on sustainability and quality of life.

“What distinguishes Puerto Aventuras is its strong sense of community,” Rivera Torres said. “Residents feel deeply connected to the place, which fosters a spirit of belonging and a shared commitment to its care and ongoing improvement.”

This philosophy is reflected in the development’s infrastructure and amenities—such as the local school, described by residents as “the heart of the community and a meeting point for families.”

Rivera Torres also underscored the importance of collaboration with local authorities to ensure orderly growth not only within Puerto Aventuras but also in the neighboring support community, home to more than 40,000 residents who work in the resort complex and surrounding Riviera Maya region.

Beyond what he describes as a “romantic philosophy of belonging,” Rivera Torres said the vision has practical foundations—anchored in careful planning, constant improvement, and operational excellence.

Ongoing infrastructure upgrades include the implementation of fiber-optic connectivity and the modernization of sports and recreational facilities, aimed at maintaining Puerto Aventuras’ reputation as one of the Riviera Maya’s most forward-thinking communities.

With this new round of investment, Puerto Aventuras continues to balance progress with preservation—building not only for tourism but also for the long-term well-being of its residents and the environment that sustains them.
