Mexico City, Mexico — Panini’s traditional sticker album, which has accompanied soccer fans through World Cup tournaments for decades, will reach unprecedented dimensions for the 2026 tournament. The Italian company revealed that this edition will be the largest in its history and likely the most expensive.
The 2026 World Cup, to be hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada, marks a milestone as the first tournament to feature 48 national teams. The expansion will be reflected in the album’s content, which will contain 112 pages and 980 stickers—a record since Panini began selling these collections.
Each packet will include seven stickers, one more than previous editions, but fans anticipate this collection will be among the most expensive. Individual packets will cost between 28 and 30 Mexican pesos, meaning a box of 100 packets could range from 2,800 to 3,000 pesos.
“I can confirm the price for a packet of Panini World Cup 2026 stickers will be between $28 and $30 Mexican pesos, an absolute madness!” tweeted soccer influencer AndyFutbol. “With 48 teams, you need about 200 packets (without any duplicates) to complete the album. That’s $6,000 to fill it…”
To complete the album, collectors would need 140 packets without considering duplicates—an unlikely scenario. Influencers estimate the total cost could exceed 3,500 pesos plus the album itself, which will retail for 349 pesos for the hardcover version and 99 pesos for softcover. The total investment to complete the collection could reach up to 7,500 pesos.
In Mexico, filling the Panini album has become a cultural tradition that brings together people of all ages in schools, offices, and homes, where trading duplicate stickers and completing teams forms part of the pre-World Cup atmosphere.
Panini announced a limited pre-sale through Amazon in the United States to gauge early demand. The official release is scheduled for around May 15, 2026, with pre-order customers potentially receiving their albums starting May 20.
The company presented the official cover for the U.S. and Canadian editions in New Jersey, while the Mexican version—featuring special characteristics—will be revealed in the coming weeks.
