Playa del Carmen, Mexico — More than 35,000 people gathered at Plaza 28 de Julio in Playa del Carmen for a free concert by the renowned band Belanova, held as part of the city’s 32nd anniversary celebrations. The event, organized by the Municipal Government under the leadership of Mayor Estefanía Mercado, marked one of the most memorable musical evenings in the municipality’s recent history.
A Night of Celebration and Unity
The concert brought together local families, domestic tourists, and international visitors in an atmosphere of festivity, identity, and community.
“We are establishing Playa del Carmen not only as a tourist destination but also as a cultural and musical hub of the Mexican Caribbean,” Mayor Estefanía Mercado stated, emphasizing the importance of large-scale events that strengthen social cohesion and foster local pride.
Belanova’s Electrifying Performance
The Guadalajara-based band, composed of Denisse Guerrero, Edgar Huerta, and Ricardo Arreola, delivered a vibrant performance, thrilling the audience with hit songs such as “Rosa Pastel,” “Por ti,” “Cada que,” and “Baila mi corazón.”
This concert is part of a broader cultural and artistic lineup promoted by the Playa del Carmen City Council throughout the year. The initiative aims to celebrate the city’s history, reinforce local identity, and provide free, accessible entertainment for residents and visitors alike.
A Growing Cultural Hub
Recent mass concerts, including performances by Molotov, El Malilla, and Bobby Pulido during the 2025 Feria del Carmen, drew over 80,000 attendees. Combined with the 35,000 present at the Belanova event, these numbers confirm Playa del Carmen’s status as a center for culture, artistic events, and wholesome entertainment.
