Cancún, Mexico — In a routine operation in Cancún's hotel zone, elements of the Grupo Centurión, in coordination with the Secretary of the Navy, secured the arrest of Omar 'N', who is allegedly implicated in crimes against public health.

Officers were patrolling along Boulevard Kukulkán avenue, heading towards the Lahia hotel, when they noticed a man handling several transparent plastic bags that appeared to contain a green vegetable matter with characteristics similar to marijuana.

Faced with this suspicion, an immediate search was conducted on the individual to prevent any risk or attempt to flee. During the inspection, a backpack was secured from him that contained 68 ziploc-type bags with the vegetable matter, as well as a cellular phone.

All the seized material was packaged and made available to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Combating Drug Trafficking, which will now be in charge of the corresponding investigations.

The arrest was carried out under the guidelines of the General Health Law, which regulates the possession, distribution, and commerce of prohibited substances. If his participation in the sale of narcotics is proven, Omar 'N' could face penalties that include imprisonment and fines.

At this time, it is unknown if Omar 'N' had accomplices or if there are links to other crimes in the area. The Prosecutor's Office will continue with the investigations to determine his legal situation and assign responsibilities in accordance with the law.
