HOLBOX, MX — The Holbox Gastronomic Society has changed its board of directors, with Lázaro Cárdenas Municipal President Josué Nivardo Mena Villanueva swearing in the new committee today. The new leadership is headed by former mayor María Trinidad García Argüelles, along with Alicia Campos and Nicolás Gasca.

Prior to the swearing-in ceremony, Nivardo Mena stated, “We are witnesses to a firm step toward the future. The Holbox Gastronomic Society, under the leadership of Trinidad García (Argüelles), represents unity with her team, who embody identity, innovation, and hospitality—values that are the perfect ingredients for a ‘perfect recipe.'”

According to its objectives, the new Board of Directors will represent and protect the interests of its members, create spaces focused on training and continuous improvement, address needs derived from legal services, and facilitate representation before government and private institutions.

The directors aim to be recognized as a confirmed and socially responsible association, participatory in activities related to improvement in all its environments and the needs of Holbox Island, focused on the constant improvement of its members in terms of service.

“It fills us with joy to see how more businesses want to be in order, professionalize, and join this movement that bets on the gastronomic, cultural, and tourist development of our island. Here, we don’t just cook; we build a future with every dish. Thanks to every person who joined this dialogue and this collective commitment,” explained Trinidad García.
