Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo — The LPGA Tour returns to Mexico’s Caribbean coast this spring with world No. 2 Nelly Korda headlining the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba.
The tournament, set for April 30 to May 3 at the El Camaleón golf course, marks the second edition of the event and will feature top international and Mexican players.
Korda, the American star who recently won the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions to open the 2026 LPGA season, brings significant star power. The victory was her 16th professional title, including two major championships, and puts her on track for the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame.
Since joining the tour in 2017 as Rookie of the Year, Korda has built an impressive career highlighted by an Olympic gold medal at Tokyo 2020 and reaching world No. 1 in 2021. Last season, she made the cut in all 19 tournaments she entered, with nine top-10 finishes.
Her presence boosts a field that also includes Mexican players Gaby López, Isabella Fierro, María Fassi, and Clarisa Temelo, along with other international stars. The event marks the LPGA Tour’s continued return to Mexico after its 2025 revival.
For fans and visitors, it will be the first chance to see Korda compete in Mexico, showcasing one of women’s golf’s most influential players on the Caribbean stage.
