Cancún, MX — A motorcyclist lost his life this Monday after colliding with a car whose driver attempted to beat him through an intersection at the crossing of 135th Avenue and Huayacán Avenue in this city.

The incident occurred minutes before 12:00 p.m., when the motorcyclist was traveling with the right of way on Huayacán Avenue.

According to authorities’ forensic analysis, the driver of the gray Renault was traveling on 135th Avenue and, upon reaching Huayacán Avenue, failed to make a preventive stop and entered the roadway, causing the motorcyclist to collide with him.

Due to the strong impact, the motorcyclist was thrown onto the pavement, losing his life almost instantly; meanwhile, the Renault ended up on the central median, with the driver slightly injured.

Paramedics arrived at the area shortly after and confirmed that the motorcyclist had already lost his life.

Elements of the Traffic Directorate implemented preventive closures while emergency units carried out their corresponding tasks.

Subsequently, the responsible driver was detained and later transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Finally, forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office processed the scene and transported the motorcyclist to the Forensic Medical Service.
