Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — Municipal President Estefanía Mercado led a Mega Public Services Brigade in the borough of Puerto Aventuras today, involving more than 100 workers from the department who, from early hours, carried out tasks including pothole repair, park cleaning, streetlight maintenance, and the cleaning of absorption wells, among other actions.
Accompanied by the Municipal Public Services Secretary, Julieta Martín Azueta, the Mayor toured various points in the locality to personally verify the progress of the work and greet the brigade members, whom she recognized as "heroes and heroines without capes, who go out into the streets every day to make this municipality shine."
During this Mega Brigade, which deployed 26 vehicles—including dump trucks, bobcats, cranes, and units for the collection of junk—the Directorate of Maintenance and Urban Hygiene participated by removing Municipal Solid Waste and junk, performing pothole repair on streets and avenues, and cleaning out absorption wells.
Likewise, the Directorate of Public Spaces deployed three crews for park cleaning and manual street sweeping; Public Lighting provided immediate attention to five citizen reports; and the Directorate of Regulation and Sanitation carried out inspections to detect illegal water discharges that cause damage to public roads.
At the end of the tour, Municipal President Estefanía Mercado reaffirmed her commitment to the transformation of public services: "In Playa del Carmen, we are building a municipality where public services are synonymous with quality, efficiency, and dignity. Every action we take, every street we rehabilitate, and every space we recover is a step towards shared prosperity, towards a future where we all live better. Our commitment is permanent and will continue to be reflected in concrete actions for Puerto Aventuras and for the entire municipality."
For her part, Julieta Martín, Secretary of Public Services, joined in recognizing the personnel under her charge, as they work without rest every day, divided into three shifts. "The Public Services personnel are people who work hard all day. It doesn't matter if it's sunny, rainy, it doesn't matter if they get wet, because every day we have a new and different challenge that we are facing. And I believe we are doing it well. The people in Public Services are people who like their work," she stated.
