Cancún — Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta encouraged community participation in the "Paseo Cancunense" during its tenth edition, held at the emblematic Malecón Tajamar.
"We are here at the Malecón Tajamar for this family edition where there are many surprises. Come to the Paseo Cancunense; starting next year we will hold it every Sunday so that people can build community in these spaces," expressed the Municipal President during the event.
Thanks to the Mayor's support for these recreational and sports activities, families had the opportunity to appreciate the Laguna Nichupté, as well as the upcoming Puente Nichupté, which will connect the city center to the Hotel Zone.
Accompanied by the director of the Municipal Institute for Urban Development Planning (IMPLAN), Héctor Sánchez Tirado, and other citizens, she embarked on a bicycle ride alongside her children as an example of how to spend unique moments with family.
The Municipal Authority has emphasized that these do not have to be high-traffic spaces, intending for families to be able to attend on Sundays and use certain designated roadways or areas for bicycle rides, skateboarding, rollerblading, or walking their pets.
Additionally, she participated in the painting of a mural by Distrito Cancún, which features designs representative of the city.
She also toured the food stands set up along the Malecón Tajamar, which offered hearty breakfasts, traditional coffee with pastries, and fresh fruit drinks. She visited stands run by women entrepreneurs who displayed a wide variety of merchandise, including hair bows, stuffed animals, costume jewelry, clothing, and accessories.
The music of DJ Adrivero provided ambiance for the attendees, as did the zumba activities.
Furthermore, healthy interaction was fostered through recreational and educational activities organized by municipal departments, including the Benito Juárez DIF system and the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit (SMSCyT) through its Traffic Education Module. There, girls and boys learned the importance of obeying traffic signals thanks to the character "Semaforina."
