Marine Species Facing Extinction Due to Overfishing

Marine species such as clams, oysters, and snails are facing a severe threat to their survival. These species are indefinitely prohibited from being fished due to their near extinction status.

It's not just these species that are at risk. Sea bass and tarpon have already disappeared from local diets. Sardines, once a staple in coastal communities, are no longer being consumed. Current regulations also prohibit fishing for octopus, snails, lobsters, and grouper. This is primarily due to overfishing of these high-demand market species.

The situation calls for increased awareness and conservation of marine resources. There is also a pressing need for effective regulations that will enable the recovery of these endangered species.
