Man Killed in His Home in Cancun’s Donceles Neighborhood
Cancun, Quintana Roo — A man was shot and killed in the patio of his home in the Donceles neighborhood on Saturday evening, authorities said.
The attack occurred around 6:30 p.m. at a residence on the corner of Guadalupe Victoria and José María Morelos streets in Supermanzana 64. The victim, estimated to be between 45 and 50 years old, was found lying in the patio with at least seven gunshot wounds from a handgun, apparently fired at close range.
Witnesses told police that two gunmen on a motorcycle carried out the attack and fled immediately afterward.
Municipal police officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to preserve evidence. Several spent shell casings were found scattered on the ground.
Investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office and forensic experts processed the scene and removed the body for transfer to the forensic medical service (Semefo), where formal identification is pending.
