Cancun, Quintana Roo — A man died early Thursday morning after an altercation outside the Tianguistas Verdes hall on the Gas Auto highway, between the Cancun-Merida highway loop and Jose Lopez Portillo Avenue.

Witnesses told authorities that several people physically assaulted him. During the attack, the man ended up on the roadway, where he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Municipal, state, and federal officers arrived, along with agents from the State Prosecutor’s Office and forensic experts, who processed the scene and began an investigation.
