Man Charged With Selling 982 Vape Pens in Cancún Raid
Cancún, Quintana Roo — Federal prosecutors have formally charged a man after police seized 982 vape pens during a raid on a home in Cancún, authorities said Friday.
The operation stemmed from an anonymous email tip to the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) alleging that the property on Tulum Avenue was selling vape pens, including to minors, according to the investigation file.
A federal prosecutor obtained a search warrant from a judge. During the coordinated raid, PFM officers and specialized experts from the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) arrested Luis “N” and confiscated the 982 devices.
After reviewing evidence presented by the prosecution, a control judge ruled to charge the suspect with a health crime involving the sale of vape pens.
As in all criminal proceedings, Luis “N” is presumed innocent until a court issues a final conviction.
