Mahahual, Mexico — A popular restaurant in the coastal community of Mahahual has announced its permanent closure, citing security concerns for its owners and employees as the primary reason for shutting down.

Owners of Beach Club El Faro made the announcement through social media, calling it “the most difficult decision we’ve ever had to face.” The restaurant, which opened with the dream of creating a space for joy, good food, and memorable moments by the sea, said it was prioritizing the safety and well-being of families and staff members.

“After much thought and with heavy hearts, we want to inform you that Beach Club El Faro is closing its doors permanently,” the owners stated. “Thanks to you, that dream became reality during all this time.”

The owners emphasized that the closure was not related to lack of customer support or business challenges, but rather to “external situations that put our safety and that of our team at risk.”

They described the decision as a responsible one, saying they were leaving “with our heads held high, deeply grateful for all the support you always gave us and for every moment shared in this place we loved so much.”

The restaurant owners concluded by stating that Beach Club El Faro would always remain part of Mahahual’s history.
