Cancún, Quintana Roo — Peruvian TV host Laura Bozzo announced the return of her program “Laura en América” during a press conference in Cancún on Tuesday, revealing that several cases featured in the new season will originate from the city.
Bozzo said she chose Cancún for the announcement because many of the cases she plans to expose on the show occurred there. The first case will involve Héctor Alejandro Matey Espadas, a former employee who has been detained for several months on allegations of fraudulent administration and extortion against the company Ultramar.
She said she will meet with Matey Espadas’ family in the coming days to learn more about the litigation and provide further details later. Bozzo stated her goal is to expose misuse of the justice system, which she claims to have been a victim of multiple times throughout her career as a host and lawyer.
Bozzo added that she will review each case submitted to her platform and, depending on the severity, expose them internationally.
The host noted that the new season of “Laura en América” will be available only on digital platforms, not on television. She emphasized that her work will remain focused on social aid and human rights defense in Latin America, staying away from politics.
“I always had, aside from the show and entertainment, this part of social aid. For me, if there’s no social aid, the program makes no sense,” Bozzo said.
She aims to reestablish herself as a media figure advocating for social causes with the return of the program.
