Tulum, Quintana Roo — Buffalo Bills fans will trade a winter tailgate for a beach gathering in Tulum this December, when La Zebra hosts a five-day fan retreat built around the team’s game against the New England Patriots.
The hotel has scheduled the event for Dec. 3–7, with former Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito appearing and Buffalo media personality Chelsea Lovell serving as host. La Zebra’s published itinerary calls for a Thursday welcome, a Buffalo-inspired food event on Friday, a beach tailgate on Saturday and a game-day gathering on Sunday. Monday is set aside for departures and optional spa time.
The football fixture is real: the Bills’ official schedule has Buffalo playing at New England on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 4:25 p.m., which is also 4:25 p.m. in Quintana Roo. La Zebra plans to show the game at its beachfront sports bar. The hotel calls the weekend an independent fan celebration.
Friday’s menu is intended to bring some Western New York flavors to the Riviera Maya. The hotel is promoting Buffalo-style wings, a wing-inspired guacamole demonstration and beef-on-weck tacos—its take on the roast-beef sandwich associated with Buffalo. Saturday’s beach tailgate is expected to include football activities on the sand. Guests can also ask the hotel about separate outings such as golf, fishing and cenote visits.
Incognito, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, played three of those Pro Bowl seasons with Buffalo from 2015 to 2017. La Zebra says other former players may join the gathering, but has not named them. Its website notes that the daily schedule remains subject to confirmation and that exact event times will be shared with people who book.
For Bills supporters already planning a winter trip to Tulum, the weekend offers a way to watch a divisional game with fellow fans. Package prices, the cost of optional activities and access for non-hotel guests are not listed publicly.
