During the ceremony, the Mayor emphasized that inclusion is an integral part of the governance model promoted by her administration.
“In Isla Mujeres, diversity unites us and respect makes us grow. Inclusion is not a discourse, it is a way of governing and serving those who visit us,” expressed Atenea Gómez Ricalde.
She also noted that this achievement is the result of joint work between government and society.
The mayor reiterated that modern tourism demands respect, equality, and dignified treatment for all people.
“This distinction shows that Isla Mujeres is moving firmly toward a tourism where all people are welcome and respected,” she added.
