Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — The Isla Mujeres Government, led by Municipal President Atenea Gómez Ricalde, has announced the upcoming inauguration of the new Mirador Mar Turquesa, located in the Garrafón area. This is a space whose right of way was defended for the island’s residents.
This project reflects that when political will and the people unite, real transformations are achieved that dignify spaces and strengthen the social fabric, like this new photographic stop that represents the identity, history, and beauty of Isla Mujeres.
This new viewpoint will be inaugurated as a result of constant, firm, and committed work by the Municipal Government, which since the beginning of the administration has maintained the defense of the right of way for the Garrafón viewpoint, always prioritizing the collective interest and the well-being of the people of Isla Mujeres.
With this action, it is reaffirmed that this space will continue to be public, open, and accessible for all.
In that sense, the Mirador Mar Turquesa will be consolidated as an act of social justice and as a clear response to the historical demand of island residents to conserve and protect a site that is part of their daily life.
With the inauguration of this viewpoint, the Isla Mujeres City Council continues defending public spaces for island families, guaranteeing safe, orderly places designed for coexistence, rest, and enjoyment of the natural environment.
This new meeting point will allow the population and those who visit the island to admire the beauty of the Caribbean Sea, while strengthening mobility and security in the area.
The Mirador Mar Turquesa will be integrated into the municipality’s tourist corridor and will become a symbol of the Municipal Government’s commitment to orderly, sustainable development with a social sense, promoting a growth model that respects nature and prioritizes people.
The Isla Mujeres Government extends an invitation to the citizenry to accompany this significant moment, which will take place on Wednesday, December 31 at 17:00 hours at the Mirador Mar Turquesa.
