Mexico City — Mexico’s National Electoral Institute (INE) has unveiled a new voter ID card featuring 25 advanced security mechanisms, which officials describe as “unforgeable.”
The updated credential includes cutting-edge anti-counterfeiting technology, accessibility and inclusion elements, and enhanced personal data protection measures, according to the INE.
The institute stressed that currently valid voter ID cards remain in effect and do not need to be replaced before their expiration date.
