Playa del Carmen. — Early this morning, a human head was abandoned outside the facilities of the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) in Playa del Carmen.
This discovery was reported around 1 a.m. at the intersection of 82nd Street and 45th Avenue, a few meters from the Municipal Cemetery.
Police officers arrived at the area and found the human head approximately two meters in front of the entrance to the Semefo facilities.
Next to this extremity, police also found a blanket containing a threatening message directed at a criminal group.
Municipal police requested the presence of State Attorney General’s Office personnel, who took charge of processing the cordoned-off area.
Information not yet confirmed by authorities indicates the human head allegedly belongs to a man.
Police officers conducted a search of the area to find the rest of the body but found nothing.
Finally, forensic experts from the Attorney General’s Office collected the human head and brought it into the Semefo facilities.
