A traveler recently shared his experience of journeying on the Maya Train, a railway system that traverses the Yucatan Peninsula. He detailed the unexpected aspects of his summer vacation, including the lack of fellow passengers, high food prices, and poor connectivity between the train stations and local towns.

The traveler, Edgar Jiménez, took to social media to share his experiences. He highlighted the lack of passengers on the train, which he found surprising. Additionally, he noted the high cost of food on the train, which he felt was not reflective of the local cost of living.

Another issue he encountered was the poor connectivity between the train stations and the towns they serve. This lack of integration made it difficult for him to explore the local areas and fully immerse himself in the culture of the Yucatan Peninsula.
