Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A vehicle accident on a federal highway in Quintana Roo left eight people injured on Saturday, with three requiring transport to a hospital for further medical care.
The crash occurred on Federal Highway 307. Civil protection, risk prevention, and firefighting personnel from Playa del Carmen responded to the scene.
Paramedics provided on-site care to all those affected. Three individuals with more serious injuries were taken by ambulance to a hospital for evaluation. The other five victims sustained only minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
The response involved a coordinated effort between the National Guard, the Puerto Morelos municipal fire department, and additional emergency units from Playa del Carmen that arrived as backup.
Authorities have not released details on the cause of the crash. Civil protection officials remind drivers to exercise caution, obey speed limits, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles to prevent serious accidents.
