Tulum, Quintana Roo — Four men were detained in Tulum after elements of the State Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with personnel from the National Defense Secretariat and the Municipal Police, caught them exchanging drugs in plain view on a public street.
The operation occurred in the Tumben Ka’a neighborhood, on Avenida 1, near the corner of Calle 19 and Avenida La Selva. According to police sources, the officers were conducting preventive patrols when they noticed the individuals handling several small bags, prompting them to approach for an inspection.
The detainees were identified as Fernando Fabián “N”, Víctor Iván “N”, Antoliano Nahuel “N”, and José Guillermo “N”. According to initial investigations, the four are believed to be linked to a criminal group that has generated violence in the area.
During the inspection, the agents secured portions of different substances resembling marijuana, crystal, “molí”, and “tacha”, leading to the immediate detention of the men.
Subsequently, they were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Specialized Attorney’s Office in Combating Drug Retail, where their legal status will be determined in the coming hours.
