Cozumel Drug Raids: 4 Arrested, 300 Doses Seized

Cozumel, Mexico — Two simultaneous operations conducted by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) at different points on the island of Cozumel resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of nearly 300 doses of narcotics, in addition to two properties allegedly used for drug sales.

The first raid was carried out at a residence located on 33rd Street between 90th and 95th South, in the Flamingos neighborhood, where agents from the Investigative Police located 50 small bags containing a substance similar to crystal meth, 100 doses of marijuana, and two police uniforms.

A woman identified as Cristina "N" and a young man named Guillermo "N" were detained at the location.

The second operation took place at a home in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood, on 90th Avenue between 2nd and 4th Streets. At that site, the officers secured another 50 doses of crystal meth and 98 small bags of plant material with the characteristics of marijuana.

Two men identified as Rafael "N" and Tomás "N" were captured there.

Both actions were executed using judicial orders derived from investigations into retail drug dealing. The four detainees were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for crimes against public health, while the properties were placed under the custody of the FGE to continue with the corresponding investigations.
