Chetumal — Former Quintana Roo gubernatorial candidate Mauricio Góngora has reemerged on the state's political scene, now focused on activism and strengthening structures with the aim of supporting new members of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM).

Although his current participation centers on territorial organization and mentoring young party members in political formation, sources close to him have not ruled out the possibility that he could position himself as a candidate in the 2027 electoral process.

Mauricio Góngora, who previously headed the gubernatorial candidacy under the banner of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), has found a new political platform within the Green Party to maintain his presence and contribute to building unity ahead of future electoral processes.

According to supporters, his experience and capacity for political operation represent an asset for the party in Quintana Roo, which is seeking to consolidate new members while backed by leadership with a proven track record.

The reappearance of the former candidate occurs in a context of internal realignments and the strengthening of structures within the state, facing the challenges that will define the coming years in local politics.
