A string of violent incidents occurred in Cancún on Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday, resulting in five fatalities and two injuries from gunshot wounds. The most severe of these incidents happened in the Santa Cecilia neighborhood, where four young individuals were fatally shot outside a residence. Preliminary reports suggest that two of the victims were minors.
According to data from the Mexico Platform, two of the deceased had prior involvement in drug trafficking and motorcycle theft. The State Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo has announced the initiation of an investigation to establish the facts and identify the culprits.
In another episode in Region 259, Block 93, two men suffered gunshot wounds inside a residence. Lastly, in Region 77, Block 28, another fatal shooting was reported.
