Quintana Roo, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE), in coordination with the Interinstitutional Group, executed five simultaneous search warrants in the municipalities of Tulum, Benito Juárez (Cancún), and Cozumel. The operations resulted in the seizure of substances with characteristics of illegal drugs, firearms, and the arrest of five individuals allegedly linked to crimes against public health.
According to the state authority, the judicial warrants were granted by control judges and executed with the support of elements from the National Guard, the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena), the Navy Secretariat (Semar), and municipal police forces.
Raids in Tulum
In Tulum, FGE agents, alongside the National Guard and Municipal Police, raided a property on Sol Poniente Street. There, they found granulated fragments similar to crystal meth and dry green plant material with characteristics of marijuana.
In the vicinity of the location, César “N” and Sandra Guadalupe “N” were detained. Authorities seized doses of crystal meth, ecstasy, and marijuana from them. Both individuals were turned over to the Public Prosecutor's Office for their probable participation in crimes against public health in the modality of drug retail sales. Initial investigations link them to a criminal group that generates violence and is dedicated to the sale of narcotics in the municipality.
Operations in Cancún
In the municipality of Benito Juárez, the FGE executed three separate search warrants, all with the participation of federal and state forces.
In Supermanzana 249, on Isla Lesbos Street in the Cielo Nuevo neighborhood, agents secured substances similar to cocaine, crystal meth, and marijuana, in addition to a short firearm and a gram scale. Eduardo Remigio “N” was detained at the site and is allegedly linked to a criminal group operating in the area.
In the same neighborhood, on Isla Wallis Street, investigative police detained Jhonatan Jeremy “N” and Jessica Zuleimy “N”, who were found in possession of material with characteristics of marijuana and crystal meth.
Separately, in Supermanzana 100, on 125th North Street and 44th West Street, authorities located synthetic material with green, dry herb, presumed to be marijuana.
Seizures in Cozumel
Finally, in Cozumel, ministerial agents raided a property located on Luciano Vivas Street in the Félix González Canto colony. With support from the National Guard, Sedena, and the Citizen Security Secretariat, they secured substances with characteristics of marijuana, crack, and cocaine, in addition to a long firearm with a loaded magazine.
Results and Seizures
Following the raids, the FGE reported that all properties were secured and judicial protection seals were placed. The evidence collected and the five detainees (two in Tulum and three in Cancún) were placed at the disposal of the competent authorities. It will be within the corresponding constitutional term that the Public Prosecutor's Office determines the legal status of those implicated.
