Nueva Reforma, José María Morelos — A fire destroyed a family home in the Nueva Reforma community on Wednesday afternoon, leaving the structure a total loss and sending four children into shock.
The blaze consumed the house, which was built with regional materials that facilitated rapid fire spread, according to emergency responders. The home is located about 20 kilometers from the municipal seat of José María Morelos.
Firefighters mobilized a water tanker, a Spartan unit, and ambulance A-04 to the remote location after receiving the report. When they arrived, they found no active flames but the structure was still smoldering.
Firefighters conducted cooling operations and removed debris to prevent the fire from reigniting. Paramedics treated the home’s occupants, including four minors who suffered nervous crises following the incident. No serious injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities will conduct an investigation.
