Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Tax Administration Service (SATQ) announced a final Saturday session on March 28 for residents to complete the 2026 license plate exchange and benefit from a 100% vehicle tax subsidy before the deadline expires.

All tax collection offices and plate issuance modules across the state will open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday to accommodate vehicle owners. The period for the 2026 plate exchange and the full tax subsidy ends on March 31 across the 11 municipalities of the Mexican Caribbean state.

Starting April 1, anyone completing the process must pay the vehicle tax and any late fees incurred for missing the established deadline. The tax amount depends on the vehicle’s year, model, and invoice value.

Registration with the State Taxpayer Registry (REC) is mandatory to complete the exchange.
